Website Development Process

Home Knowledgebase Productivity Website Development Process

Once the Sales Process has been completed staff can begin the Website Development Process, assuming the client employed us for that service.

There are two different types of website development that we do for clients. Each type and processes for them are outlined below.

New Website Development

  1. Create a Project in Teamwork based on the Template.
  2. Assign all tasks to the correct staff member.
  3. Conduct an initial meeting with all staff to explain the project and answer their questions.
  4. Assign due dates to all Milestones and Tasks.

Apart from these items, it is necessary for the Project Manager to use their discretion on precisely what to do. If you are the Project Manager and have further questions, contact your supervisor for more details.

General Website Development

When clients need miscellaneous website development work you must do the following:

  1. Create a Project in Teamwork based on the Template.
  2. Delete all of the irrelevant Tasks and Milestones, but leave the Tasks Lists in tact.
  3. Add new Tasks and Milestones at your discretion and in parallel to the Proposal the client agreed to.
  4. Assign all remaining tasks to the correct staff member.
  5. Conduct an initial meeting with all staff to explain the project and answer their questions.
  6. Assign due dates to all Milestones and Tasks.

Apart from these items, it is necessary for the Project Manager to use their discretion on precisely what to do. If you are the Project Manager and have further questions, contact your supervisor for more details.

Hybrid Website Development

Sometimes clients have already begun their new website development with another company and need us to take over. This requires a developer or website development project manager (someone who has programming experience) to look into the code base to evaluate precisely what needs done. This should have already been completed during the website development process.

In the future, we will develop a Teamwork template to ensure generic steps are outlined to ensure a smooth project.
